Web Design & Development

We pride ourselves on building websites that combine your communication goals with user-friendliness and good looks. The key to our many successful web launches is that we take a results-oriented approach. All design decisions are based upon detailed research including: review of your previous website usage statistics; user surveys; latest web usability research; latest web 2.0 and social media research; and, general design principles. We review these decisions with you prior to building the site, to ensure you will be confident in the success of the final product.

Web Strategy and Development

We provide web strategy and consulting services as either a stand-alone service, or as part of your website (re)design. This can include a review and list of recommendations on the following aspects of your web presence:

  • site content, writing and architecture;
  • design and usability;
  • web 2.0 / social media integration;
  • Content Management System (CMS);
  • eCommerce integration, credit card processing and secure transactions;
  • mobile app development (stand-alone or integrated with your website data);
  • Contact Relationship Management (CRM),
  • project collaboration software;
  • custom web app development;
  • mass emailing strategy,
  • search engine optimization;
  • web traffic statistical analysis.

After this review, we help you choose the best solution and work with our team of programmers to build it.

Content Management System (CMS)

Annual maintenance costs for a website can be drastically reduced if you can maintain the website yourself. With the use of a Content Management System and some basic image editing knowledge anyone can do website maintenance. We have worked with at least 8 different content management systems over the last 10 years. Some are certainly better than others but the top 4 CMSs are equally capable, so choosing a CMS often comes down matching your needs to appropriate CMS. This means we are CMS-neutral company, ensuring we provide you an unbiased opinion on which CMS that works best for your needs.

Corporate Web Training

To ensure you are comfortable using your Content Management System and doing image editing, we offer web training on these aspects of your website. This training takes place prior to the launch of your website on a development server, allowing you to do hand-ons training as you enter content into your new website. We also offer training on any other piece of software you choose to add or build through the course of the project.

Open Source Development

After reviewing the many software options available, the vast majority of our clients have chosen Open Source CMS and related software (ie. WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, CiviCRM). Open Source is software that is built by a community of world-wide developers using a free-licensing model. This model stands in stark contrast to the major companies like Microsoft, Sitecore and Saleforce, which charge large five-figure annual licensing fees. Choosing Open Source means that you don’t have to pay any licensing fees – your only maintenance costs are hosting and technical support. The other major benefit of these Open Source tools is that they are used and supported by millions of programmers and organizations so the software is constantly being updated and improved upon (including the creation of thousands of useful add-ons).

Website Maintenance and Support

Like a house, a website requires maintenance once it is built to ensure it doesn’t fall into disuse. As noted in the training section, most maintenance can be done by you and your in-house staff. But, depending on how fast you want your site to grow, you may need additional technical help and support. To address this need, we sit down with you after the site has been launched to determine a maintenance arrangement that works for you.
